The roof, the room was beautiful, Mohammed was wonderful, homemade varied breakfasts, quiet and relaxed. Beautifully decorated riad with a few places to relax in. There are communal books, a chess board. I would definitely recommend this riad to anyone :)

Our bed sheets were not changed. On the first day we were asked if we wanted them to be changed to which we declined, but on the second I noticed that mine were dirty but hadn’t been changed. This may have been due to a lack of misunderstanding. The breakfast was a little small on day 2 but overall very pleased with our stay ???? The lights were very confusing in our room and one didn’t work in our bedroom and one didn’t work in the bathroom. There was a slight bad smell in our bathroom.

This riad is beautiful with typical Maroccan design and pool in the patio. After a walking day in the sun, the pool is refreshing. It is like oasis of peace. The manager of the hotel - Adil is very helpful, kind and fun person. I recommend this riad. We felt here welcomed and relaxed like at home.

Staff were the most friendly people I met in Morocco

The staff were so kind and welcoming. Adil, the manager, was so helpful in showing me all the places to go, what to avoid etc. The Riad itself was so beautiful, and with the rooftop sunbathing spot I didn't want to leave!

The shower wasn't great, hard to get a good warm temperature and was weak pressure (However the bath made up for it as this was incredible)

The riad looked amazing, exactly what I expected. And the staff were friendly and extremely helpful, even if there was a language barrier at times.

Well situated, close to the central square. A nice and quiet riad after a busy day in the Medina. We loved the shower! The staff were very friendly and the host held a good briefing upon our arrival to help us acclimatize ourselves.

Room door is shut using the traditional bolt but doesn’t lock. Although the riad’s interior is monitored and there’s always a staff member around, we’d have preferred having the option to lock the door when going out. Lastly, there’s room for improvement in terms of room amenities: sockets near the beds weren’t working and a solution serving as a luggage rack could be useful.

Warm welcome in the heart of Marrakech

I had such a relaxing stay at Riad Magellan, thanks especially to all the staff, who were absolutely wonderful. Everyone I met was friendly, helpful and knowledgable and assisted me with making different arrangements (e.g. spa, transports, dinner, even telephone!). The riad is in a great location for exploring the medina and further afield, on foot. Access was via a quiet lane in the medina, which is lit at night. I was given a map of the Medina which was extremely helpful, especially for shops, museums, and cafes. Everything is beautifully decorated, and the roof terrace is really relaxing. The breakfast had a great choice of food and was really generous. The riad is so calm, that even in the middle of Morocco making an enormous success in the 2022 Football World Cup, I heard nothing!

For English guests it would also be good to provide a kettle & coffee/tea in the room. The rooms do not lock by key on the outside (you can only lock when you are inside the room), because there is always a member of staff on guard, and only a handful of rooms, I always felt safe about my belongings. There is a safe in the room (large enough for a tablet if I remember correctly).
